The Service

What is the Egg Factory service?

The Egg Factory takes an idea and puts it through a simple commercial journey: capture, validate and launch. We explore the problem it solves, test the market, assess feasibility and commercial potential, and work out what the idea needs to become a viable product, service or business rather than just another good idea sitting on a shelf. Confidentiality is built into the process from the outset, with ideas handled securely and protected under a Non-Disclosure Agreement before detailed discussions begin.

Once an idea proves it has potential, there are several ways forward. It can be launched as a joint venture or partnership, developed into a standalone business with shared equity, or taken to market as an IP, product or licensing opportunity. The model is flexible, so the right route depends on the idea, the people behind it and how involved they want to be in building and owning what comes next, with sensitive information and intellectual property treated confidentially throughout every stage of development.

How does it work?

Every idea starts with a conversation. Once an idea is submitted, we put confidentiality first, with detailed discussions covered by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) so your concept can be explored securely and with confidence.

We then capture and review the idea, looking at the problem it solves, who it is for, what makes it different and where the commercial opportunity may sit. From there, we carry out an initial assessment and categorise the idea into the most appropriate development route.

How Ideas Are Categorised

Ideas will generally fall into one of four areas:

Product Idea
A physical or digital product that could be developed, manufactured or brought to market.

Service Idea
A new service, solution, consultancy offer or different way of delivering value to a customer.

Business Venture
A broader concept with the potential to become a standalone business or new commercial operation.

IP or Licensing Opportunity
An idea where the strongest route may be through intellectual property, licensing, partnerships or commercialisation by another organisation.

Validate, Develop, Launch

Once the route is clear, we test the idea in more detail. This can include market demand, feasibility, competition, costs, risks and commercial potential. The aim is to identify whether the concept has genuine potential before significant time or money is committed.

If the idea passes validation, we agree the most suitable way to move forward. This might involve developing the business model, shaping the proposition, creating a roadmap, identifying partners, developing prototypes or preparing for a pilot or full market launch.

Ownership & Launch Options

There is no single Egg Factory model. The structure is designed around the idea and the person behind it.

An idea could be developed as a joint venture or partnership, become a standalone business with shared equity, move forward through licensing or IP commercialisation, or remain founder-led with support from The Egg Factory.

The exact ownership, investment and commercial arrangements are agreed openly before development moves forward, so everyone understands their role, responsibilities and potential share in the opportunity.

Secure. Structured. Flexible. Built to turn ideas into something real.

How much is it going to cost me?

There is no initial charge to put an idea through The Egg Factory. The review, categorisation and early-stage assessment process is completely free, with no hidden fees, no obligation to continue and no catch buried in the small print. The purpose of this stage is simply to understand the idea, assess its potential and identify the most suitable route forward before anyone commits time, money or ownership.

If the idea progresses beyond The Egg Factory process, any future costs or commercial arrangements are discussed and agreed in advance. These will depend entirely on the business model chosen, whether that means consultancy support, development work, a joint venture, shared equity, licensing, investment support or another agreed structure. Nothing moves forward commercially until the proposed model, responsibilities, ownership and any associated charges are clear and agreed by everyone involved.

What do you get out of it and who owns the IP?

You do. Putting an idea through The Egg Factory does not transfer ownership of it to us, create any automatic claim over it, or commit you to a future commercial arrangement. You remain free to develop the idea yourself, work with another partner, pause it, sell it, license it or take it in a completely different direction.

Even after the Egg Factory process is complete, there is no obligation to continue with Trinity House Ventures or The Egg Factory, and no equity, revenue share, fee or ownership position is assumed simply because we have reviewed or helped shape the idea. Any future commercial relationship would only happen if both parties choose to proceed, and the terms would be discussed openly and agreed in writing before any paid work, investment, equity arrangement or licensing agreement begins.

Of course, by that stage we will already understand the concept, the opportunity, the risks, the potential market and the most suitable route forward. That groundwork puts us in a strong position to support the next stage efficiently and intelligently, without the time and cost of bringing a new partner up to speed.

Your idea stays yours. Any commercial relationship starts only when you say it does.
